How to submit entries?

1. Register for a free member profile.
2. After you become a member, log in with your username and password. After logging in you will be directed to the submission page.
3. Fill out the required information and upload your submission.
4. Proceed with the payment and complete the payment.

Who's eligible to enter?

The Design Discovery Awards (D&A) are open to anyone over the age of 18 living anywhere in the world in the fields of architectural design, interior design, landscape design, product design, and graphic design. Professional entries will be judged against other professionals, and student entries will be judged against other students.

Entries Eligibility

Entries can be from companies, teams/departments, manufacturers, suppliers, freelancers or students and entries must be for projects completed within the past five years.

Can I send a sample of my product to the competition?

No, we do not need a physical sample of your product. All entries are evaluated online through the uploaded photos, PDFs, or links to supporting materials such as videos, presentations, etc.

Is there a limit to the number of entries I can submit?

There are no limits on the amount of entries you can submit.

Can I enter my work into multiple categories?

Yes, you can enter the same work into as many categories as you see fit. There will be an additional fee for each category.

Does my project need to be completed to be submitted?

We accept submissions as completed, works in progress, or conceptual projects.

Do I need to pay the submission fee before I can submit my work?

Payment of submission fees is the last step in the entry process. Please make sure your entry is complete before sending the payment. Once the submission fee is paid, you will no longer be able to change or edit your entry.

Can I cancel my submission and get a refund?

You may cancel your submission at any time, but once the submission fee has been paid, there are no refunds provided.

How will I know if my submission is complete, and what do l do if it's not?

If a submission is incomplete at the closing of the competition (e.g. the submission has not been paid, or incorrectly uploaded images), it will not be eligible. Although we make every effort to ensure the completion of submissions, we are not responsible for incomplete entries, thus being unable to offer a refund should an entry be incomplete at the time of the closing of the competition.

How do I know if I’ve won an award?

All winners will be announced via the official Design Discovery Awards (D&A) page, where all registered entrants will be able to log in to view the winning entries and whether or not they have won.

All winners will be notified via email in due course. Please make sure your email address is correct, as our notifications may be caught in spam filters or receive undeliverable responses. You can change your email address by logging into your account and updating your information.

What will I receive after winning the award?

Become a Design Discovery Awards (D&A) winner and receive press coverage, exposure - showcasing the winning entry and award information on the D&A website. Winners of the Design Discovery Awards (D&A) will receive unique marketing materials that will allow winners to display the winning Design Discovery Awards (D&A) message and logo on their website, articles, sales materials, etc.

Will there be an award ceremony after the award is announced?

We have decided not to organize an award ceremony or an awards party at this time. If we decide to hold an online award ceremony/award party or offline award ceremony/award party next, a notification will be posted on the official website as well as an email notification to the winners once they are announced.

Submission Format

Image File

Each image submitted should not exceed 4MB and should be submitted in flat JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) or PNG (.png) format.

Audio/Video File

1. Upload the video/audio to Vimeo/YouTube/Youku/Tencent Video.
2. Paste the URL link into the URL field.

Entries with audio/video must be submitted using the direct URL in order for the judges to access the entry directly. If password protected, you must provide a username and password for judging purposes. Entered web videos will only be judged on the basis of the content provided. If an explanation is needed prior to evaluating the work, please upload a PDF synopsis.

Do I have to own the copyright of Materials for my submission?

Copyright and all other rights in the works and materials (photography, video, drawings and texts) submitted to the Design Discovery Awards (D&A) remain with the respective applicants at all times. Applicants who submit design work and materials (photography, video, drawings and text) grant Design Discovery Awards (D&A) and related services the right to use and publish them, such as award publicity, winner publicity, etc., although there may be no monetary compensation.

Applicants submitting design work and materials (photography, video, drawings and text) must ensure that appropriate rights of use (e.g., photographs/video) exist. Applicants submitting design work and materials (photography, video, drawings and text) shall be fully liable for all damages suffered by Design Discovery Awards (D&A) as a result of infringement of these (possibly insufficient) rights of use and shall indemnify Design Discovery Awards (D&A) on first request for all claims.

Neither Design Discovery Awards (D&A) affiliates nor partners will be held liable for submissions that violate the rules of the competition or violate copyright regulations. Design Discovery Awards (D&A) acts to maintain the integrity of the competition, but is not responsible for any damage caused by images submitted in violation of the rules and regulations.

Payment

Entry Fees

The regular entry fee is £120 for first time entries in the Professional category and £45 for first time entries in the Student category. If an entry is submitted in more than one category, an additional entry fee will be required for each category.

Entry fees are non-refundable once submitted. Withdrawn entries (either by the entrant or by the prize due to the entrant's failure to comply with entry rules) are also non-refundable. Please click here for entry fees.

How can I pay for the entry that I submit?

You can pay for your entry online, via PayPal or Alipay after submitting your entry.

Are all the fees on your website in GBP?

Yes, we only accept GBP at this moment.
